“It is Health that
is real wealth
and not pieces of gold and silver.”

The Great Avoider
I’m an enneagram 9. If you haven’t heard about the enneagram there are about 1000 websites now devoted to the study of it. And If you don’t know you’re number, look up a quiz to find out what number you are. I like the Enneagram Institute.
9’s are peacemakers. That’s our thing. We don’t like anything to disrupt our peace and harmony, and that can mean avoiding things that are unpleasant. That’s me.
Frittata!
I love brunch, breakfast, breakfast for dinner..all of the above! Anything with eggs and some kind of breakfast meat! I love veggie scrambles…making a frittata takes a bit more time but also gives you delicious breakfast all week (or whatever time of day you choose to eat it- you do you!)
I’m always looking for filling meals with a carb, protein, and fat- and here it is!
Stuffed Sweet Potatoes
I know I don’t get enough veggies every day! These stuffed sweet potatoes are delicious and you won’t even realize you’re getting a huge serving of veggies- because they taste so good!
butternut squash soup
This soup is SO delicious and easy to make if you have a high powered blender, like a vitamix.
gratitude
My husband and I have started sending each other short gratitude lists in the morning. If I’m working at the gym, it makes me smile to see his list pop up on my phone. It’s easy, you type the first things that come to mind. The more specific you are, the better. It’s easier to be vague and general- more challenging that you might think to be detailed and specific. But it make a big difference. And it sets my perspective for the day.
spiritual health
I’ve never been more convinced that our overall health involves are body for sure, how we eat and the way we move, but also our mind and spirit. These last two can be closely related. Our mind- what we are thinking about, our attitudes, what we read and how we feed our minds. Our spirit- our gratitude, our relationships, our spiritual selves, God or Higher power or Spirit- our inner voice.
whole roasted chicken
I wanted to share a recipe that LOOKS very impressive but it so easy! A whole roasted chicken. And this recipe makes your house smell so delicious! If you’ve never cooked a whole chicken before, look for the little chicken that looks like a thanksgiving turkey but is much smaller.
health and wellness
Health/wellness are big words right now. I don’t want to just add to the noise. But I do have a passion for all things wellness- in mind, body, and spirit. My world has been shaken more than ever before in my life the last few years. And I’ve learned what it means to be healthy, and very unhealthy- in all three areas. I’m hoping this space becomes a place where I can share things I’ve learned- both in hard ways and in fun ways.
