spiritual health

I’ve never been more convinced that our overall health involves are body for sure, how we eat and the way we move, but also our mind and spirit. These last two can be closely related. Our mind- what we are thinking about, our attitudes, what we read and how we feed our minds. Our spirit- our gratitude, our relationships, our spiritual selves, God or Higher power or Spirit- our inner voice. When my daughter, who is now 9, was born, I realized I had a choice to stay in shape or not. I started CrossFit and I realized how important it was for me to stay healthy and fit. And I’ve focused the most on my physical health. But over the last two years, I’ve learned, sometimes the hard way, how it’s equally important to keep my mental and spiritual health as a priority as well. I attended OnSite Workshops, a therapy retreat, and it changed my life. I started meeting weekly with a therapist. I began reading and studying about topics that have affected my life and have helped me understand some of the physical affects of mentally and spiritually unhealthy. I let that slip and I’m learning that I can’t do that. So as well as recipes and workouts, I’ll be sharing what I’m learning and what I’m reading and just some thoughts about mental and spiritual health as well!
