Chocolate Protein Power Smoothie
Here is the PERFECT smoothie recipe for a meal, or post workout. This smoothie is packed with protein, green veggies, and will keep you full and satisfied.
If you don’t have all of these exact ingredients on hand, this recipe works well with substitutions.
You can add any frozen fruit you have on hand, I just love to use dark cherries because they are so sweet and you don’t have to use as much. Add a full frozen banana if this is a meal or post workout because you need those carbs. If this is more of a snack, use half of a banana or leave it out.
I always add a TON of spinach because it is completely tasteless.
The raw cacao powder gives you that rich chocolate flavor and is also an amazing superfood!
I love to add a scoop of amazing grass green superfood just because each scoop has one FULL serving of fruit and veggies. I used a chocolate peanut butter protein powder, but use any flavor you have on hand. I’m loving KOS organic plant based protein right now. I’ll provide a LINK to the amazing grass and the KOS protein powder. My favorite almost butter is RX vanilla almond butter sweetened with vanilla, so it doesn’t have sugar. This stuff is so good on apples- like a dessert.
Chocolate Protein Power Smoothie
RECIPE FOR 1 LARGE SERVINGS or 4 SMALL SERVINGS
*1 C Almond Milk
*1 BIG handful of spinach
*2 Scoops Protein Powder (I used KOS chocolate peanut butter)
*2 Frozen bananas (this is more for a full meal or post workout-leave out banana if it’s just a snack)
*2 tsp vanilla extract
*2 TBS Raw Cacao powder
*2 Scoops amazing Grass green superfood
*1 Cup frozen dark cherries
*2 TBS Nut Butter (I LOVE RX Vanilla almond butter)
*1-2 Cups of ice
Add all ingredients to a high powered blender, and blend for 2-4 minutes. Top with granola, berries, mini chocolate chips, etc.
