Easy Turkey Burgers

These turkey burgers are one of our most made and loved recipes- in other words most of the kids will eat them and they are easy to make. WIN WIN for me!

Start with 2 pounds of ground turkey or chicken. I just prefer turkey or chicken to ground beef because it’s leaner and my tummy seems to like them better. These could be made with ground beef as well though if you prefer. I always hope to have leftovers for lunch the next day, so two pounds of meat is a great amount,

In a mixing bowl, add the meat and two eggs and about a cup of 3/4 cup of bread crumbs. I never remember to actually buy bread crumbs, so I make my own. In a small food processor, I just add two pieces of bred and grind it up! SO EASY!

Now add about a tablespoon of whatever spices you like! You can add some cajun spices if you like that, or keep it simple with just sea salt and pepper. I usually add different spices each time- whatever I have on hand. Thats it! Mix everything together- the meat, eggs, breadcrumbs, and spices!

Now heat a nonstick skillet, or an iron skillet, and form the meat into patties. It will be very soft, but it’s ok. It still works!

Let then burgers cook about ten minutes each side on medium heat, then and add cheese at the end! I use a meat thermometer to make sure the burgers are cooked all the way through. So Easy!

I love to pair these with my carrot fries or sweet potatoes fries! So delicious! Last night I roasted sweet potatoes, broccoli, and onions all together on a sheet pan!
