A little about Me
My name is Taylor. I’m 39 for another 2 months😬😬
I grew up in Atlanta and my parents still live in the same beautiful house I grew up in.
I was the baby of the family and I’m still very close to my brother and sister. I was homeschooled 2nd-11th grade, and then went to Auburn University. Yes that was a shocking life change:)
I worked for a church in Birmingham after I graduated doing youth ministry. Those were truly fun years and I met my husband there in 2004, who was a worship leader at the church.
We got married in 2007 and moved to Atlanta soon after and worked for a church in Marietta.
I have PCOS and struggled to get pregnant for 2 years. Adoption had always been on our hearts and we adopted our oldest son, Phoenix in 2010. I got pregnant immediately and we had our daughter, Bravery, 15 months later.
I nursed her for a year and knew I was at crossroads with my health and wellness. I could get back in shape, or not. And I knew this was my chance to really commit to being healthy.
I found a small crossfit gym with a female coach and I fell in love- with all of it. I loved having an hour that was just for me. I loved the results I was seeing in my body. I loved how I felt better mentally.
I started eating healthier and experimented with eating mostly Paleo. I saw the best results I’d ever seen and when I got pregnant again, I noticed how much better I felt. I continued crossfit all the way through my next two pregnancies. I really believe it helped me bounce back physically (although it always takes me almost 2 years to lose baby weight!) and to handle 4 kids, ages 5 and under. My energy level and mental health was so much better with consistent exercise and eating clean, real food.
Fast forward and this past year I decided I wanted to help other people in their health/wellness journey. I got certified as a personal trainer this last fall and am now working as a trainer at GTS in Peachtree City.
We’ve had quite a journey over the last 13 years. I’ve understood and experienced moments of anxiety and depression over the years and I KNOW I made it through that by really focusing on my mental, emotional, and physical health. And I have a passion to share what I’ve learned!
So that’s me! In this space I’ll share recipes, workouts, and things that have helped me find peace in some of the storms we’ve been through.
40 is creeping close but I’m so excited for this decade. My youngest starts kindergarten next year and I know life is changing. BUT I believe I’m in the best shape and healthiest I’ve been. I’m so excited to share more of what I’ve learned and am still learning with you!
